Brain Based Coaching
Coaching sessions provide a shift in perspective using a brain-based, neuroscience approach. I’m not interested in you “feeling your feelings” or turning your lenses inward to “take a look at yourself.” In fact, I’m thinking that’s what’s been getting stuck. This way of thinking that looking in has value makes no sense and doesn’t create lasting change. Imagine this guy is driving his car and you look over and as he’s driving, as he’s moving forward, you notice, he’s staring into the mirror to check out his lips! He’s moving forward yet looking back at his lips!!! Not a chance you or anyone else wants to be driving around that guy! Not a chance you’d want him doing that at all! In fact, you’d yell at him “Hey buddy! Stop looking at your lips! Eyes forward!” We can think about coaching sessions in the same way. Time to stop looking inward. Let’s turn those lenses out and get you moving forward in a much more beneficial way.
Using a brain-based approach to coaching sessions offers a rapid shift in perspective by learning about the brain and what to do to stress-proof it.
Difference between Coaching and Psychotherapy
Coaching sessions differ from psychotherapy sessions because they are more education focused, designed for learning, consulting, and referring purposes. Coaching services identify what’s been problematic, sets a clear goal and intention of change, and provides learning to understand the brain with steps on how to retune and play the brain for change. These services are not covered by extended health benefits and are video sessions provided online. Coaching services may be available to those residing outside of Ontario and are intended to provide a healing environment that will allow you to make meaningful and immediate changes in your life.
